That changed when I started dating an INFJ —someone who is like me in so, so many ways, yet as different as the sun and the moon in others. As a result, this pairing is a common one as common as any pairing can be for such rare personality types. Other things that make this a great pairing include: The conversations never get old. But with our shared love of learning, and the joy we take in connecting different ideas, conversation remains intellectual and riveting long-term. You can be quiet together. The INFJ is more prone to breaking the silence with an amusing observation, while the INTJ will produce less frequent but far longer rants about something they just read. These two types back each other up. Thankfully, the problems tend to be complementary: I can help my INFJ plan her work and troubleshoot problems, while she helps me take the social pulse of a situation and gauge whether a project will even find an audience.

They love being with them. They love forming intimate relationships with them. They love surrendering to the connection between two people when all the distance falls away and they each express themselves openly and without censorship. And they love sharing their endless warmth and sensitivity with their soulmate. As has often been observed, there’s no one more loving than an INFJ in love. Despite their loving tendencies, INFJs generally have problems with romance.

It has been around for many decades in specialist circles but recently has caught the fancy of public interest as well. The tool uses the questionnaire method to evaluate the four dichotomies of Introversion vs. Extraversion , Sensing vs. Feeling and Judging vs. Based on the various combinations of four dichotomies, there are 16 defined personality types. An ISFJ is likely to recharge himself through his private space, uses his senses to gain information of the world around him, relies on feelings and emotions to make decisions and prefers to plan beforehand about the future.

These temperaments balance each other out in some ways but utterly conflict in others. This is an undeniably fun pairing in the short term — easy and enjoyable for friendships — but things get significantly more complicated when romance is added to the mix. Strengths of this pairing: Potential pitfalls of this pairing: ENFPs value having a deep emotional connection with their partners, whereas ENTPs show their love through attentiveness and accommodation of their partner.
The ENTP also has a difficult time understanding introverted feeling paired with extroverted thinking and they may view the ENFP as selfish, dramatic and overly sensitive. Both types work best with a grounded partner who can balance out their high energy level. Best to avoid this combination for serious relationships. This gives them some common ground, particularly if the INTP is comfortable using their extroverted intuition regularly.

We either want people in the friend category or keep them at arms-length as acquaintances. The people who I think of as casual friends usually have to contact me if they want to get together. INFJs actually have a good reason for limiting our interaction with most people. This can, however, hold us back as we pursue deep friendships. Cultivating casual friendships can be a good way to start deepening relationships with people and learning whether or not you can trust them.
It includes family members and friends who we have decided we cannot really confide in but still love deeply. Cultivating these friendships is one way to help fill your INFJ need for connection with other people. These people already care about you and you should be able to share your thoughts with them. Try opening up and see what happens. They might actually understand you more than you think they will.
Soul Friends This is the inner circle, the people we trust and who we have let get close. Many INFJs only have one person in this category and some have yet to find this connection. I, personally, am blessed to have more than one soul-friend.
Is He Your Type? MBTI, Personality Types, and Marriage!
Since ISFJs, like all SJs, are very much bound by the prevailing social conventions, their form of “service” is likely to exclude any elements of moral or political controversy; they specialize in the local, the personal, and the practical. ISFJs are often unappreciated, at work, home, and play. Ironically, because they prove over and over that they can be relied on for their loyalty and unstinting, high-quality work, those around them often take them for granted–even take advantage of them.
ISFJs (Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging) are “endlessly loyal,” Christie Tcharkhoutian, Professional Matchmaker & Marriage and Family Therapist, tells ISFJ might be just fine with.
Where to find one: Any independent or used bookstore in a trendy neighborhood on a Friday night. Ask them about Rilke, social justice, chai tea. ENFJ- Why you want one: At a party they are hosting for their friends in their home. Ask to help, compliment how much fun everyone is having. Tell them some juicy gossip.
Try not to feel bad when they have to give attention to all the other plebey party guests. ESTP- Why you want one: Know Jeremy Piven in Entourage? Sometimes it just feels good to be around an asshole. Maybe the easiest to pickup, just try to look good and get in their line of vision.

They can get so caught up in taking care of everyone else, that their own desires and needs go untended. In a relationship, they hope to find somebody who will give them a chance to slow down, relax, and be taken care of for a change. They also want somebody who will let them be generous, caring, and thoughtful, without questioning their motives. ISFJ females tend to be very thoughtful and traditional; dressing up for dates, using good manners, and enjoying traditional tokens of romance like flowers and chocolates.
Male ISFJs are usually true gentlemen, treating their date with old-fashioned courtesy.

Do you like following a pattern or creating your own? Do you make decisions based on logic, or based on emotion? You can find more by visiting her website here Hi. If you are just getting into Enneagram or typology in general and have trouble making sense of it, I hope my story will help. All that changed a few years ago. I decided to research it more thoroughly and put to rest once and for all whether it had anything to it or if it was as I thought at the time just a bunch of rubbish.
I realized there might be more to it after all. Afterwards, I was able to type some of the people around me and eventually settle on INFJ as my best fit type after all. Since I was just getting into the cognitive functions and making sense of them, I decided to put off the Enneagram for awhile. Like most people, I started out doing the same thing I did with MBTI and took the online tests and read the online descriptions, which gave me 5w4 and 4w5 as my two most likely types. Some more online research and some YouTube videos caused me to run into some problems with those types.
My current Enneagram library has now disturbingly swollen into at least a dozen books. When I read 5w4 though, I related to it much better: The first on the list was Enneagram 1.

ISFJs have a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. They constantly take in information about people and situations that is personally important to them, and store it away. This tremendous store of information is usually startlingly accurate, because the ISFJ has an exceptional memory about things that are important to their value systems.
